Speedtest

at least gives an upload value.

If I think if it when I boot up tomorrow morning, I'll boot into safe mode with networking and see if speedtest will work that way.

The bandwidth place also gave results. The first server was NY so I switched it to DC and got a lower ping.

There must be something about Ookla that won't allow it to work on my computer.

Results seem to vary from site to site. Just going to Bing and typing "speed test" and running the test there, it shows a bit better results than Ookla.

Ping <1 ms
Download 124.74 Mbps
Upload 14.48 Mbps

500+ meters of quality multi-core (200+ cores) aluminium cable for sale, needs removing from attached standing posts. Offers, please.

I need sites that give me single-threaded results, as many streaming servers, even some game servers, use 1 thread. Fast.com (Netflix) can be setup for this, Settings > 1 + 1, min/max threads.

(Some) manual ThinkBroadBand checks above, automated combined (single+multi averaged SamKnows) below:

Each of the SamKnows drops below ~6Mbps required a router reboot (sometimes several) to recover from, not good being stuck at 0.27 Mbps.

Fibre to the house gives me a terrific boost but actually I am paying for up to 900Mbps download so it is slow today!

Comcast/Xfinity just gave us a "free" upgrade. No doubt to distract from their latest price increases. Doubled my upload speed for what it's worth. My previous and new speeds

A month ago, I downgrade my cable internet-connection. It was 500 / 40 Mbit/s - now it is 200 / 30 Mbit/s which is enough and a bit cheaper...
