[SUGGESTION] To all analysts: HP Envy 700-074 model BIOS corruption, bug, etc

In latest news, thanks to John, I have been in contact with HP's Social Media Ambassador and my information has been passed along. I have been notified I will be contacted in ~24 hrs. I hopefully will be back with good news :thumbsup2:

Also, my email is now evidently being removed from their newsletters list as I reached out and kindly asked to be removed, as the email I contacted them from was my business email and receiving newsletters cluttered things. I will provide more updates when I get them, as usual! So far the support has been great.

I've been informed that the issue has been successfully noticed as it moved up the chain, has now been properly escalated to the proper expert within HP, and I will be notified of further final developments or solutions by next week as said expert is out of office. I know I've mentioned this before, but the support I have received from HP is absolutely incredible. They could have simply read my email, saw what I reported, and that was that. However, I am in contact with two very kind people at HP who are keeping me updated on the situation regularly.

Supposedly it has reached the escalation team over at HP, however, they need me to get any serial #'s or case #'s from people experiencing this issue so the unit they had trouble with can be analyzed :confused2:

This is quite difficult as most that I've helped with this issue have returned the system.

If the customers have returned the laptop, surely HP will add the customer's information to their database with the Serial and Case Number of the customer's laptop, it seems like basic customer service and logic to me.

Hello everyone, I have an new problem for all to be aware of:

As I also have the HP Envy 700-074 model, running a cleanly installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit version. Installed all drivers successfully, installed all updates to-date, in Legacy mode, and my Virtualization option in BIOS is enable, all should seem right. Well, be informed by this post that if you go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and enable (check) all Hyper-V components. Now, when I "Apply all updates" (after checking all Hyper-V boxes), restart the computer (to apply the updates), my computer loops endlessly.

I have pin-pointed the problem though. After going into Safe Mode with Networking mode, disabled (uncheck) the HYPER-V PLATFORM option, my computer then boots successfully, and I can connect to an external server using the Hyper-V Manager.

With that being said, I need help from you fellow forum participants, thank you in advance.

I haven't heard anything from HP in over a week :frown6:

Hi,

I can't say whether or not this is related to the discussion at hand here, so you'd be best off creating a new thread so you can get some troubleshooting assistance on your issue specifically - Windows 8 | Windows RT - Sysnative Forums

Regards,

Patrick

Patrick we can only do so much, the best we can do is to inform any other customers experiencing the same problems, and ask them to report the issue to HP since it's their responsibility to resolve the bug with their BIOS.

Got quite a nice surprise when I woke up! I believe this has been finally fixed with a BIOS update that released only two days ago as of this post - HP System Desktop BIOS Update - HP ENVY 700-0xx PC and HP ENVY Phoenix 800-0xx PC and HP ENVY Phoenix 810-0xx PC models(with a 2AF3 ROM Family) - HP ENVY 700-074 Desktop PC | HP® Support

Unfortunately, HP provided no change log, but through the grapevine I am hearing this works... so... looks like we helped a solution come sooner than later, once again. :thumbsup2:
