Unable to Install Windows Update

I have uninstall the antivirus software from the desktop. I ran the Windows update, and it fails.

Thank you for the information. To continue troubleshooting your issue I would like you to remove your antivirus software McAfee Internet Security. Make sure you have your license key before uninstalling so we may re-install it when the issue is resolved.

Please let me know when this is done. Thank you.

Step#1 - Run Windows Repairs
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
1. Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable to your desktop.
2. Once the file is downloaded, right-click on the file on your desktop and choose Extract All...

3. Keep the defaults and click the Extract button.
4. A folder named tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio will be extracted to the desktop. Once the extraction is complete the folder will open.
5. Inside this folder, there is a folder named Tweaking.com - Windows Repair. Open this folder as well.

6. Double-click on Repair_Windows.exe to open. Note: Please make sure all of your programs are closed and anything you were working on is saved as we will be rebooting.
7. When the program opens, click the Repairs tab and click the Open Repairs button.
8. A backup of your registry will be made. After a few moments you will have many options from which you can choose.
9. Please click the Unselect All button and then click to enable only the following ones:

05 - Repair WMI
06 - Repair Windows Firewall
10 - Remove Policies Set By Infection
14 - Remove Temp Files
15 - Repair Proxy Settings
17 - Repair Windows Updates



10. Ensure the Restart check box is selected and click the Start Repairs button in the lower right of the screen. This may take some time to run so be patient.

11. Once the fixes are complete you will be prompted to restart your machine. Answer Yes.
 
I ran the repair tool, restart the system, and ran Windows update. The issue still persist. Any additional help will appreciated. Thank you for your help.

1. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
2. Run FRST by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
3. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
4. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

I want to thank you for working with me on this issue. I ran the tool as instructed. However, the system did not reboot when the fix tool completed. I had to manually reboot the system. I ran the Windows update but, it failed. Here is output log information for your use.

When you run Windows Updates, can you provide me the exact message that you get? I know you may have provided this before but I need to know if it changed at all. Thanks.

10. Please click the Unselect All button and then click to enable only the following ones:

01 - Reset Registry Permissions
02 - Reset File Permissions
03 - Reset Service Permissions
04 - Register System Files



11. Ensure the Restart check box is selected and click the Start Repairs button in the lower right of the screen. This may take some time to run so be patient.

I perfomed the fix as directed however, when I ran the Windows update it fails.
 
Check for Windows Updates again. When it fails, please do the following again.

Step#1 - Retrieve Event Log Messages
1. Download Event Viewer Tool by Vino Rosso to your Desktop
2. Right-click on the file (VEW.exe) and select Run as administrator.
3. Check the options as shown below and put 20 in for the number of events.
4. Click Run. After a few moments, notepad will open with the contents of the Event Logs. Please copy and paste these in your next post. Thank you.

OK I see that your machine is definately not activated. Do you have the Product Key shown on the COA sticker on your machine's case? Let me know if you see the sticker.
 
Yes, I have the product key. I tried to activate it but, got error message that indicate the "software licensing" service is not running. When I tried to start the service I got the attached error message.

Ahhh....OK, this should fix your issue now. Please do the following.
1. Save this file to your desktop.
2. Double click the file which should be named RegFix.reg.
3. When asked if you want to merge into the registry please answer yes.
4. Reboot

Then try to start the service again or at least verify it is running.
 
I recieved the same error message when I tried to start the service, after I implemented the registry fix.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCScript.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
