[SOLVED] Update from Windows 7 to Windows 10 fails

Please do. It seems to fix a few items each time.
 
My post #40 was the result of running through the night.
If that seemed to make any difference, I can do it again tonight (wear it down into submission, LOL)

The SURT failed to install. I ran the chkdsk c: /c /f command throughout the night again.
Is this doing anything at all? It still seems to be dumping at the same point, with the same error code...

Step 1:
WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.

Step 2:
Reboot the machine.
Perform the instructions in message #53 again.

At the second command line - %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
(command prompt as administrator), it tells me "Access is denied," and fails to generate the log file (at least where I can access it). I did the process a second time, to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong.
Also, my system is going in to chkdsk mode each time I reboot, and I have to physically break the chkdsk. Letting it run, it is doing the same as before, dumping with what appears to be that same error code.
I just wondered, should it be going into chkdsk each time I reboot?
