Shutdown the machine completely.
Are you able to open the Windows Boot Manager and select Windows 7 from there ? You may need to press F8 or Shift + F8 at startup.
No only view of windows 10 is the rolling bar instead of the swirl? when it boots into Windows 7 still . If I press F8 all it says start normally or safe mode options
Open an elevated commandprompt.
Copy and paste following command into it, then press enter. bcdedit /set {9dea862c-5cdd-4e70-acc1-f32b344d4795} locale en-US
When completed, copy and paste following command into it, then press enter. bcdedit /v
Provide a fresh screenshot of the commandprompt window.
I presume its a problem with the BCD causing the reboot problem with the windows 10 upgrade . Is there any way of doing a clean install and transfering the programs from the old hard drive?
Another option is to buy a new drive and install Windows on that one.
After that you can use the old drive as a slave drive and backup. Programs need to be re-installed on the new OS.
