Dear Sysnative WU,

Sorry for not having thought of mentionning it.
It was the same than on my previous attempt, that is:

Mise à jour pour Microsoft Outlook Social Connector 2013 (KB3054854) Édition 64 bits

Thanks,
Cheers

Please do the following:

Download the attached file.
Right-click the downloaded file and select Run as Administrator.
A Command Prompt window should appear.
Wait for it to finish.
Afterwards, please try installing updates again and attach WindowsUpdate.log if updates fail.

Good day Sysnative WU,

After executing the batch file, Windows Update failed with a message saying that "Windows could not search for new updates" (error code 80244010)

Please find attached the windowsupdate.log.
Thank you.

Good day Sysnative WU,

With the new reboot Windows could successfully search for updates again.
However only a new Defender update successfully installed. All the ones that had kept failing previously failed again.
Here is the log.
Thank you for your patience.
Cheers

Good afternoon,

based on everything I've seen so far, I am pretty confident that your office installation is corrupt. I recommend you try uninstalling your office, and then reinstalling it using your media (if you have one). That would very likely resolve your issue.
If you'd like us to rather try to surgically fix the issue by trying to pinpoint the exact part which is corrupt, we can try that.

Please let me know how what you'd like me to do.

Good day Sysnative WU,

Though I have not yet detected other dysfunctionings, it is indeed very likely the case that something got corrupted in my Office installation given how I know for sure that various other programs got corrupted in that initial event (and I am still far from having checked all of them).

Under those circumstances it would be abusing from your time and efforts (which so many others are in need of!) to push further. I will try a repair or a complete re-install of Office. Only if after that the Windows Update problem persists, then I will open a new thread.

For now, we can consider this thread closed very satisfactorily: the situation is much better than it was initially with many repairs done, most updates installed successfully, and I have a pretty certain idea of where the remaining problem lies and of how to fix it; And until I find the time to do it the computer is very useable.

I am still pretty baffled at how widespread files damages can be on a SSD due to power loss, but this is a lesson learned. I'll put in place a backup of the system for this computer.

I wish to thank you a lot for your time, efforts, and patience.
Keep up the good work!

Cheers
