[SOLVED] [Win7SP1 x64] Windows updates KB4499164 fail to install

There are two other updates available now (apart from the "preview" ones): For the X-Box controller and for the acer display.
Is it advisable to install them, too?
Do you think there will be problems with the system updates in the future?

Yes install the drivers updates.

Its difficult to say, we rely on the tools the system have and SURT provided by Microsoft to check for problems, after fixing the errors, some problems are only detected when installing an update that affects other system components.

Sometimes installing the latest Monthly Rollup can leave the system in inconsistent state because of some glitch during install or a MS error and only on next month the problem emerge when trying to install the new Monthly Rollup.
 
I think that's exactly what had happened: The system crashed during an update, then it seemingly repaired itself but was unable to install the next update.

But now it just installed KB4503292 without any problem, so it seems to be fine so far. You may mark this thread as solved.
