[SOLVED] [Win8.1 x64] PC refuses to update Error 80070BC9

I'm confused BrianDrab.
I tried to be very carrefull... I used again FRST64.exe with the fixlist you sent me (see attached file below).
I do not know what happened ?
So, I downloaded once more FRST and your fixlist, executed it and here is the fixlog.txt (see attached file)
Cordially

The fixlist is correct but the Fixlog you are sending me (which is the result of running the file) is incorrect. My guess is that you don't have FRST64.exe and fixlist.txt in the same location. Are they both on your desktop?

If you look inside the fixlog.txt, it shows what it actually ran. It actually ran a file that had the following in it.

Code:
CreateRestorePoint:
StartRegEdit:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide]
"DisableKernelTransactions"=dword:00000001
EndRegEdit:
EmptyTemp:

So please put the fixlist.txt back on your desktop and open it before you run it and let me know what the contents are.

Thanks,
actually... when I downloaded again your fix with the link, it contained this :
"cmd: sc config trustedinstaller start=auto
cmd: net start trustedinstaller
cmd: fsutil resource setautoreset true %SystemDrive%\
cmd: attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*
cmd: attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.tm*
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.blf
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.regtrans-ms
EmptyTemp:"
I do not know how I got this ?

Hopefully, I found the first fix... with the exact code you've showing me above.

It's still wrong. Let's do the following. Please delete from your desktop any FRST64.exe, fixlist.txt or fixlog.txt files. Once everything is deleted, please follow the steps below. Use Internet Explorer if you can.

FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Thanks
I've done all what you asked me to do.
The fixlist I downloaded contained the following lines :
"cmd: sc config trustedinstaller start=auto
cmd: net start trustedinstaller
cmd: fsutil resource setautoreset true %SystemDrive%\
cmd: attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*
cmd: attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.tm*
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.blf
cmd: echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.regtrans-ms
EmptyTemp:"
Here is the Fixlog.txt

I proceded to KB2962409 update. It seemed to function well, but it does not appear in the update history like it succeeded nor it failed... It has disappeared from the waiting updates... Strange...

Actually, not too strange for updates that were stuck when your machine was in a broken state. Log looks good. Move on to one of the recommended updates.
