Re: [Win8.1] Win.Update spinning

The listchkdskresult does nothing. I am looking in eventvwr for wininit entries to get the info you need. This is tedious but the only thing I can think of

Re: [Win8.1] Win.Update spinning

got the same result error 1812. dism log is in the link.

To confirm when you dragged the SFCFix.zip file from Post#26 and dropped it on to the SFCFix.exe file you received the error mentioned above? Or did you get that error when you tried something else?

Re: [Win8.1] Win.Update spinning

I dragged the file over SFXfix.exe and let it run. I am happy to try again. the chkdsk results showed non helpful to our problem , I believe. Let me know and I am on it.

Perfect. Please do the following.

SFC Scan

2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
sfc /scannow

3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter.
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Right-click on this file and choose Send To...Compressed (zipped folder). Please upload this zipped file CBS.zip to this thread

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.
