  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.

No, the directory C:\Windows\CbsTemp is empty after a reboot.

When trying the update again, there is only the directory C:\Windows\CbsTemp\30769568_1235827341 present, not the one you mentioned. Inside that directory, the file Windows10.0-KB4517389-x64.cab is present.

I had to copy the manifest file while installing the update, because the numeric directory inside C:\Windows\CbsTemp is different on each try. I did that at the very beginning of the process, you should see that in the ProcMon log.

The updates process took a quite long time (about 7 minutes), however, it still fails with error 0x800f081f. The ProcMon log is quite big on this one.
