• On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
• Enter the command below and press on Enter;
  

  sfc /scannow

  Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
• Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter

• A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;

Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't have the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

Hello Aura,

I have tried installing updates. But after downloading and installing it shown as restart required. When i restarted the updates are not getting installed.

While restarting it shows as
"we couldn't complete the updates
undoing changes
don't turn off your computer"

This is the SS i have taken after that,
almost all are having "Error 0x800703f1"

I have even tried installing Offline by downloading cumulative update from Microsoft catalog. But the result is same.

Replacing the COMPONENTS Hive
Follow the instructions below to replace the COMPONENTS Hive.

• Download the attached COMPONENTS.zip file, and save it on your Desktop;
• Right-click on it, and select Extract all.... Once done, the folder with the COMPONENTS file will open. This will be your new COMPONENTS Hive.
• Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\config folder;
• In it, find the COMPONENTS file and rename it to COMPONENTS_bak;
  Note: If you receive a message saying that the file is in use, restart your computer and try again.
• Once done, copy the new COMPONENTS file I sent you in the C;\Windows\System32\config folder;

First of all Thanks very much for the continuous Support. I just did as you suggested and tried installing updates. But the result is same as like I described in Reply no 33. For the confirmation I tried again and result is same then too.

No not at all. First there was no problems in installing any updates at all.

The only problem was i never was able to install Cumulative updates from the 1st one. Except for Cumulative updates all the remaining updates used to install quite well. But now no one is getting installed including latest Cumulative Update "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 (KB3105210)".

Alright, open up Internet Explorer and go to the following URL.

Microsoft Update Catalog

It'll asks you to install an add-on, so accept to install it and enable it. Once done, two updates will be displayed. Click on the second one (without the x64 in the name). Download it and try to install it. If it fails, upload the two files again for me to review please.
