Good. Alright, try to install the updates again, and if they fail, upload the CBS.log for me once more please.

C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log

Hello Aura,

I tried to install the updates and the result is same and error too seems same.

The content in the WindowsUpdate(log file) is this,

Windows Update logs are now generated using ETW (Event Tracing for Windows).
Please run the Get-WindowsUpdateLog PowerShell command to convert ETW traces into a readable WindowsUpdate.log.

For more information, please visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=518345

Urg sorry, I meant to upload the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png
    Run as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
  • Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't have the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

Hello Aura,

I just performed as you said and i didn't find any error after scan, And below is the Compressed link on Google Drive,

Hello Aura,

I have provided the info you asked. Do I need to perform any other changes? Can you please look at that once and support me?

Alright sorry about the delay. I usually reply fast, but sometimes it can take me up to 24 hours to reply to a thread, since I also have a full time job and I am a volunteer on other forums :) Your issue here is that there's corruption in the Registry (incorrect data) and I need to pinpoint it. I don't have a set of instructions ready to create the WindowsUpdate.log file yet, so I'll keep on working with the CBS.log alone for now. Try to install your Windows Updates again, and when they fail, upload the CBS.log file for me to review please.

Hi Aura,

I'm having a similar issue but my windows is 64 bit. Should I try to follow all of the steps to fix the issue? Also some back ground info: The first time I downloaded windows 10, the cortana search bar and the start menu locked up and i could barely do anything with my computer. I simply deleted everything and reinstalled windows 10, and now I'm trying to find and repair the problem before it has a chance to freeze my computer again. Also, my computer is a mac, and I have windows 10 64 bit pro installed via bootcamp.

Hi abid96 :)

If you need help with an issue, please start a new thread in the Windows Update section. Do not follow the instructions here or in any other threads, some every fixes are system-specific and running them on yours could damage your Windows installation. After you post your thread, an Analyst will be with you shortly.

Thank you :)
