[SOLVED] Windows 10 upgrade fails

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.

Step 2:
There are also remnants of EmsiSoft AntiMalware and TrustDefender available.
Do you recognize these programs and are they uninstalled ?

Here is the Fixlog.txt file. EmsiSoft Antimalware and TrustDefender were old freeware programs I had used to check for suspected malware infections. They should be uninstalled but I don't see them in the list of programs in control panel "Programs and Features".

I still can't check for windows updates because I get the 80072EFE error. Should we fix that or should I just try the Windows 10 upgrade again?

Something went wrong. Did you run FRST.exe as administrator ?

I re-downloaded the fixlist file and then ran FRST as administrator. The new Fixlog is attached. I think it is the same as before.

Select Download updates but let me choose whether to install them.

Restart the machine.
Check Windows Update again and report the result.

I restarted and checked for updates but I still got the 80072EFE error. A screenshot is attached.
