Then try to install KB2750149 with DISM again.

Ok this is weird, I did this and when I when to try installing the update again, the DISM.exe file is zero bytes and won't open. I get the "This app can't run on your PC" message. So I deleted all of the file with just the MSU and tried the expand again and again the file size is 0 bytes and wont open. No virus software or anything. I can't find where that file is to fix it

The text file is here http://criio.com/temp/SFCFix.txt

Try this:

Command Prompt

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    expand Windows8-RT-KB2750149-x64.msu -f:* C:\temp

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\Windows8-RT-KB2750149-x64.cab

  4. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  5. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please.

something is wrong with the DISM.exe file. I dunno if it got corrupt or what. Is there a safe source to get this back?

Let's find out. Please run SFC /scannow to identify which version of DISM we will need.

SFC Scan

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
  2. Type cmd in the search box, and then right-click or press and hold on Command Prompt.
  3. Tap or click Run as administrator.
  4. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  5. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip and attach this to your next post.
If the zip is larger than 8MB, use a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

never mind I found another copy of it in the Windows/System running it now... I will post back soon. it may be later because I am heading out for the night. but will check in later. Thanks again so much for you help! FYI as of this writeing though it is at 16.7% and looks stuck again I think that is where is failed last time
