[SOLVED] Windows 7 32bit updates failure

Please don't run any Registry Cleaner they tend to create problems...
 
Lets do some repairs to the system...

Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable
  • extract the tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to c:\Windows\TEMP the zip will extract to a folder called Tweaking.com - Windows Repair
  • execute the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder, accept the Security warning and the EULA
  • click the button Jump To Repairs
  • click the Open Repairs button to access the following screen:

  • click the box All Repairs to uncheck all the box's
  • check only the following box's:
    • 01 - Reset Registry Permissions
    • 02 - Reset File Permissions
    • 03 - Reset Service Permissions
    • 04 - Register System Files
    • 05 - Repair WMI
    • 10 - Remove Policies Set By Infections
    • 16 - Repair Windows Updates
    • 20 - Repair MSI (Windows Installer)
    • 25 - Restore Important Windows Services
    • 26 - Set Windows Services to Default Startup
  • check the box Restart/Shutdown System When Finished > Restart System
  • click the Start Repairs button
Accept the tool prompt to reboot the system to Safe Mode and run the Repairs in that mode.
 
When i somehow entered the updates historz, all of the updates are in the status: pending

That is normal because the Tweaking tool repairs.

Is there any other problems with the system? Can you use Internet Explorer to access the Internet?
 
Im not at the PC right now but Chrome had no problem

I need to know about Internet Explorer because its more integrated with the Operating System components, when IE doesn't work properly other Windows components will fail also.

Collect another log please.

  • Download FRST or FRST x64 and save it to the Desktop.
    (Please pick the version that matches your operating system's bit type. If you don't know which version matches your system, try FRST if it say that is not compatible with your OS you have to use FRST64
  • Highlight the contents of the box below, right click on it and select Copy
    Start::
    reg: reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS %systemroot%\System32\config\COMPONENTS
    reg: reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\PendingXmlIdentifier
    reg: reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\NextQueueEntryIndex
    reg: reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving
    reg: reg unload HKLM\COMPONENTS
    End::
  • Execute FRST/FRST64 right click on the icon
    FRST.gif
    and choose Run as Administrator. Make sure all other windows are closed.

  • Press the Fix button just once and Wait
  • The tool will make a log (Fixlog.txt) on the same location as FRST/FRST64 please post it in your next reply.

Thanks for the log. You can upgrade Internet Explorer later when the problem gets resolved.

Can you access the Internet using Internet Explorer?

Farbar Service Scanner
Download Farbar Service Scanner and save the file to the Desktop.
  • Run FSS
  • Check all the options
  • click Scan
Post the generated log in your reply.

  • open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  • type or Copy & Paste the command:

    winmgmt /verifyrepository
Post the result of the command.

Open the command prompt again as Administrator like you did before and type:
the Command prompt will change to C:\Windows\System32\wbem>
mofcomp.exe mstscax.mof
Post the result of the last command.

Ok, force windows to search for updates and then try to install one of them.

Upload the CBS.log after it fails and also tell me the error code.

Copy the log c:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log to the Desktop zip it and upload the zip file to your topic.
