[SOLVED] Windows 7 Security Monthly Quality Rollup Updates failing

I ran SFC and it showed it corrected errors, but the CBS.log file hasn't changed. Still has yesterday's date.

Just tried to uninstall it from Print Management and it gave an error box with an "access denied" message, but now it's gone from Print Management.

1. Open Device Manager
2. Find the printer.
3. Uninstall it and make sure that delete driver option is selected.
4. Reboot *Disconnect the printer if physically connected to the machine.

Printer isn't in Device Manager or Print Management.

I just tried the Preview of Monthly Quality Rollup (KB4457139) and that one failed too.

Do not install Previews. They are notorious for causing issues.

Let's try the following:

Create a System Restore Point, then open CMD as Administrator and enter the following:

pnputil.exe –d prnhp002.inf

Let me know if successful.

Go to C:\windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\prnhp002.inf_amd64_neutral_04d05d1f6a90ea24\prnhp002.inf Right click it and select install. Reboot and retry updates.

Make sure you have a good restore point just in case.
