Windows 7 updates KB2901983 & KB3001652 fail with error 643

Please go ahead and run Windows Update normally. Attempt to install available updates. Let me know if installation fails for any.

Rerun the installer for
KB3001652 once more.

When installation fails, please do the following:


  • Run Collect and follow the prompts. The programme can be redownloaded here if necessary: Collect.
  • The programme creates a ZIP file in %TEMP%\vslogs.zip.
  • Attach this file in your next reply.

After completing the above, please rerun the installer for KB3001652, and let me know if installation is successful or not.

Uninstall Update

  • Click the Windows Start

    button. Type CMD in the search bar, right-click CMD and click
    AVOiBNU.jpg
    Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste (right-click the Window + Paste) the following into the Command Prompt. Press Enter on your keyboard.

    wusa /uninstall /kb:KB3000988
    wusa /uninstall /kb:KB3008627

  • Let me know if the commands are successful.
 
No indication that it worked. The following window came up:

Please repeat the above using the following commands:

wusa /uninstall /kb:3000988
wusa /uninstall /kb:3008627

I did not attempt to reinstall. While I was away from the computer Windows installed multiple updates. When I later checked to see if KB3001652 was installed it appeared not to be installed, (although I could have sworn it previously said it had been installed when I first clicked to find out what had been installed). The following are the current pending updates to be installed:

Correction. When I was in the Windows Update window and I clicked View Update History it showed KB3001652 installed. However, if I do a search it does not show up as being installed.
