[SOLVED] windows 7 x64 update failed error code 643 and 80073712

You need to first .zip the CBS.log
You can copy this to your desktop and then right-click on the file and choose SendTo...Compressed (zipped folder). A file will be created named CBS.zip that you can send.
 
I see why it's not installing. Did you happen to have a Beta version of .NET installed at any time?

Please do the following.

Gather System Info
1. Click the Start button.
2. Type cmd in the search box.
3. Right-click on the cmd.exe that comes up and select Run as administrator.
4. Type or copy/paste the following into the command-prompt window
systeminfo > 1 & notepad 1

5. Notepad will open with some information. Please copy/paste this into your next post.

Thank you. I've reviewed all the logs and I still believe the reason for the failure is that it is detecting another or newer version of .NET. Very odd. But I was able to obtain some more information (specifically the GUID) that it thinks is installed.

As a result I would like you to do the following.

FRST Registry Search
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
3. Copy and paste 26784146-6E05-3FF9-9335-786C7C0FB5BE into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.

4. When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please copy and paste the contents in your next reply. If for some reason notepad doesn't open the file should be
saved on your desktop named Search.txt.
