Windows Server 2016 Unable to reinstall Defender or repair file corruption

Hi Peter,
The scan came back clean. Thank you for your help.
If I might ask, what was it that was fixed?

A registry value for the service Windows Update was incorrect.

Check Windows Update again and report the result.

The check for windows updates box has not changed and still returns an error message 0x80070006.
I'm able to use Power Shell to check for updates. Although no OS updates are available at this time to test if the installation thru PS fully works. I've only done Defender updates.
The Defender start box in Settings (Update and Security) still does not work but I created a short cut to the executable and it works fine.
Defender updates are working thru the defender interface but have stopped showing up on the Window Update page as downloaded and ready for installation.
You've done a great job. Thanks again.

Your welcome.

Follow the instructions below to cleanup the tools and logfiles used in this thread.
Rename the file FRST64.exe to uninstall.exe and run it. This will remove all files and folders created by FRST and the tool itself.
Reboot the machine to complete.
You may remove all other tools and log files.

Take care.
