[SOLVED] Windows Update - 13906 (For BrianDrab)

I'm assuming the printer that you have is an HP Officejet 6700? Is that correct?

Please right-click each item that has a caution icon on it and select uninstall. Then reboot your machine and see what it looks like. Send me another screen shot afterwards if you could.

Got it. Device Manager was where we needed to go next. Nice job. In Device Manager, right-click on the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6150 that has the caution icon on it and select Uninstall. Reboot once prompted. Even if you are not prompted to reboot please do.

Next, from your working machine, download the drivers from here and save them to your USB drive and transfer to the good machine.

Extract the zip file and open the contents of the folder. You will see a Drivers folder and an Install folder. Open the drivers folder and double-click on dpinst64.exe and allow to install. Reboot if prompted.

If successful, check in Device Manager to see that it is now showing without a caution icon.

Let me know. Thanks.

However, what I notice is missing is AR8151 driver which was there when my problem started. I am attaching another shot showing you the drivers when my problem first started.

Please advise

OK, here is the fileView attachment DelFix.txt

I deleted the ones that I could on the device manager. The others that are still showing were not deleted even though I tried and then got the uninstall message but they were not deleted.

Thanks. OK, please install the following.

1. If you use your printer just to print and don't use the scanning feature then download/install this driver.
2. If you use all of the features of your printer such as scanning then download/install this driver.

After this is done, let me know how Device Manager looks.

Brian:
I was not able to install the printer from the link you provided. I kept getting all kinds of error messages. However, I used a usb cable and the installation CD for that printer and that was a successful install. I have printed with it so it is working as of now. Below is what the device driver looks like. (I notice I do not see the printer device listed here)

Nice job on the printer. Sorry the drivers I provided didn't work. Let's try the following. Only do this to WAN Miniport (IKEv2) and let me know how it goes.

1. Right-click on WAN Miniport (IKEv2) and choose "Update Driver".
2. Choose “Browse my computer”. In the next window, choose “Let me pick driver from a list”.
3. Uncheck “Show compatible hardware”. From the “Manufacturer” list, choose “Microsoft”, and from the “Network Adapter” list, choose “MAC Bridge Miniport” or "Generic Broadband device driver". Whichever one is available to choose.
4. Now in device manager it will show as whatever you picked (i.e. “MAC Bridge Miniport”). Right-click and delete this device and then reboot.
5. Verify this one entry is gone.

Please let me know.

Brian;
I completed the task but I am not sure if it was done right as I see the drivers still in the device manager window. For some reason, I could not do a print screen for the device manager however I took a picture of what it look like now.
