[SOLVED] Windows Update Error 0x80070490

It could take a VERY long time to search for updates after the fix that we just did. It has to rebuild the entire Windows Update cache. Please allow it to finish.

Once it identifies updates that need to be installed, yes please go ahead and try to install them.
 
ok, i'll let it load all night. and install everything it asks for.
should I install optional updates too? or just the main ones?
 
That's a personal choice. I always install all critical, important and optional updates. Some people prefer to install only critical and important. Really your choice.
 
things are back to normal and my last update is the windows 10 upgrade. which i will not install.
