[SOLVED] Windows Update problem/Mark Deployment Missing

SUCCESS!
The system has successfully installed all outstanding updates.
KB4499164 Monthly Rollup Windows7x64
KB4499178 Preview of Monthly Rollup
No updates available.
It looks like Windows Update is fixed and the problem is solved.
I am really grateful for your help, thank you very much.
I am just wondering if is possible to completely remove all leftovers, traces, registry... of Avast Antivirus and Avast Secure Browser?
Both of them are uninstalled but command dir c:\*avast*.* /S still shows many leftovers (see attachement).

We can remove most of the Avast leftovers. The items in the last 2 folders we skip, they don't harm, are not big in size and we don't want to mess up the machine now we are almost done.

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.

Step 2:
Rename the file FRST64.exe into Uninstall.exe.
Right-click on Uninstall.exe and select "Run as administrator". This will remove FRST64 and all files and folders it uses. Restart the machine when prompted.

Ok. If you performed step 2 FRST64 and it's files and folders are removed also.
Now all remnants of Avast should have been removed, except in 2 Windows folders which should be no problem.

I am little bit worried about these leftovers, but I must trust that they will not cause a problem.
I am going to reinstall Avast Antivirus (in place of Security Essential) and Secure Browser.
In case of problems I will go back to this forum.
Thank you again for help.

Okay. If you re-install I will keep this thread open. Please report if Avast works fine or not.

The system works normally. There have been no major updates since you repaired Windows Update (the system downloads and installs only daily definitions for Security Essential).
Today I reinstalled Avast. Everything is OK. I expect Monthly Rollup for Windows 7 in mid-June. Then we will see if this update will be installed without any problems.

Then we will see if this update will be installed without any problems.
OK, we will keep this thread open waiting for your feedback on this.

Yesterday, Windows installed updates:
KB5032292 Monthly Rollup for Windows 7 - successfully installed
KB890830 Malicious Software Removal Tool - failure with error 0x8024001E
Even if the message is "failure", I think everything is fine. In fact, the MSRT has been launched (the latest version) and has scanned the computer.
Below the following log: C:\Windows\Debug\mrt.log
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool v5.73, June 2019 (build 5.73.16044.1)
Started On Wed Jun 12 10:58:03 2019
Engine: 1.1.15900.4
Signatures: 1.293.2420.0
MpGear: 1.1.15747.1
Run Mode: Scan Run From Windows Update
Results Summary:
----------------
No infection found.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today (as every day), Windows Update searched for available updates, with the result "no updates available".
So Windows Update works correctly, Avast as well, and I'm sure the reported problem is solved.
Thank you again for your help.

Great. You may remove all the tools and log files used in this thread to clean up.
This thread will be marked as solved.

Take care.
