[SOLVED] [W7SP1 x64] Cannot install KB4049016

Hi,

trying to install:

2017-11 Safety- and Qualitätsrollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7 under Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB4049016)

Everytime I get Error 66A Unknown Error.

Try installing the update again. If it fails, zip up and attach CBS.log after the failed install.

Your CBS.log has rolled over, i.e. is not complete. Could you try updates one more time, but from a Clean Boot state?

tried again.

I deleted the old cbs.log,
made a clean reboot and tried to update again,
which failed again.

then zipped the whole cbs folder.

Did you try manually downloading the update and installing it from the downloaded msu file?

there are always trouble with this kind of updates for .NET Framework.

Okay. Download it from here. Choose 64 bit version and download both msu files offered: Microsoft Update Catalog

Which version of .NET Framework is on the system?

i tried installing the update from your recent link microsoft update catalog.

see attach picture of the msu updates i tried.

when trying to install them i get the message, that they are already installed.

the net framework repair tool was unable to fix the problem (as usual)

SFC Scan

1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each
   
   sfc /scannow
   
   Wait for this to finish before you continue
   
   copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

btw the other option, net cleanup etc. also failed.

in fact none of the microsoft help options was helpful.
