I've not had a reply yet to the thread titled 'Windows Vista Business SP2 Windows Update Error 80070490' posted 08:04pm on 08-14-2014.

Just to put a bit more meat on the bones as something else has sprung to mind since I sent the post. I've also tried to repair windows using the installation CD. However, to run the repair I have to uninstall SP2. Trouble is SP2 doesnt appear on my programs list. It seems as though my computer has lost its windows update history as well as not updating. I did have trouble with the google redirect virus when the error code issues started.
