I would advise you against installing Previews as they can cause many issues :)

SFC Scan


  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

    Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

You asked me to uninstall something without a return response. I thought attempting the update was the response :)

Is the SSD brand new?

Did you use Samsung Magician to ensure that the SSD has the most current firmware and is healthy?

Download and install the most recent version of Intel RST
Downloads for Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology (Intel(R) RST)

Retrieve Components Hive

1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload toa file sharing service and just provide the link here.

Is the SSD new? Please check for updates and let me know which critical/important updates show up as needed to be installed.

Yes, it was brand new out of the box when I installed Windows on it. It's connected to a SataIII interface and has the latest firmware. TRIM is enabled and until recently, I had RAPID mode enabled. Even when I disabled it, still no updates

Sorry, somehow missed the request for update packages. The only update available is Important KB4048957 the 2017-11 Security Monthly Quality Rollup. I've hidden the Preview updates as you said not to install.
