OK, here's the plan. Please see if you can restore only c:\windows\system32\driverstore\infpub.dat from the 2/21/18 backup.Note: Place the restored file on the desktop for now. Don't actually overwrite the existing file.

If you are able to restore the file and place a copy on the desktop then continue.

Run the attached fixlist.txt through FRST and provide the resulting log.

Then run throught the following fix through FRST and provide the resulting log.

It failed but it went to 7% after the reboot and then said reverting. Much faster. Did not wait 5 min before the failure

no and only infpub.dat and infstrng.dat appear in the folder either

the cache one was not in the backup and only the 2 show on my c drive

That's odd that infpub.dat restored from Quarantine. That's not what I epected. In any event go ahead and try the install of the update.
