Thanks for the list John. Rather said it has come to this...

Sorry about the links... when pasting in WYSIWYG, they convert to sysnative.com

Thanks for fixing, Geoff.

Just a quick recap -

Banned at SF... some listed "account closed"

If I missed anyone or you would like your name removed, please let me know.

You might want to check the user name links. The don't work for me, don't know about you. Thanks for the list though, it's really long. :(

Stephen

Not only do the links not work for me, but all but two are crossed-out (and even those not crossed out don't work either). But I guess it's easy enough to find them manually if one desires. I still don't see the revisions (possible intentionally).

Still, I'm flabbergasted at how many were involved (which I suppose was the point) - I'd no idea it was this many until now. It's astonishing and I've never before seen anything like it anywhere.

I've noticed that my profile has been visited by one of Z3's key groupies (no doubt looking to confirm it was me based on some similarities and even if I'm not involved in this incident because of our history there) who has yet to post anything here under that name (but had a few messages back in May when he joined here and one recently when a visit was presumably noticed - nor do I have access to see if other visits occurred between those times or if it just restarted), but if Z3 isn't visiting himself or doing so under an alias or as a guest, then there is no doubt in my mind that this individual (at least) is keeping him informed.

Any who have somehow managed to escape should be aware that some level of surveillance is occurring. The "as requested" ban was a pretty clear indicator at least that one was based on comments here. Others from "over there" may or may not be involved (I've no access to check or compare nor any inclination to do so nor suggesting it be done either). I'm merely noting that such "escapes" may have been intentional or simply missed - but those still active "over there" who are concerned about retaining their status "over there" should maybe be careful for at least a bit (until the dust settles in a few weeks or months or however long it takes) about what is said here (or "over there" - even in PMs which I guarantee are read by Z3 and/or others so empowered without concern for privacy).

Corrine said it best when she noted that the point is to help people. These politics are madness. I'm just saying, that while doing that primary task, also watch your back if you are still active in any way or have a history that escaped the wave of bans (so far) in any of the Z3 forums "over there" and don't want to join those already affected.

What happens when you click on the links?

They work fine here - my profile link = jcgriff2

Please try again -

The names w/lines are how they now appear at VF, SF, EF....

Aha, now I get it. Yep, it works for me now as well. Thanks.

Not all of those names were removed recently. I know DeanP has been banned for quite some time. I remember noticing that DeanP was banned when I joined SF back in November of last year. A few of the names are not affiliated with Sysnative.

I am a bit confused as to the purpose of the list. Is it to show who was banned as a result of the seavixen32 thread and/or an affiliation with Sysnative, or is it to show that SF admins tend to ban a lot of users? If it is the former, some names should be removed (unless I am mistaken and those names have since changed?), and if it is the latter, many names should be added. There is a thread on one of the other forums that has a whole bunch of disgruntled ex-SF members who were banned for allegedly no reason. There are also YouTube videos by members who were banned from SF and were angry about it.

I have always found the admins there to be a bit quick to ban people. I probably took advantage of it a few times by reporting users who were rude or made disrespectful remarks toward me. Most of those I reported deserved to be banned, in my opinion, but there probably was a small percentage who could easily have been handled with a warning.

What I would like to say is this: There were quite a few users who were banned without much provocation prior to the other night/day, but as far as I know, those users were reported for violating one rule or another. I feel it was an extreme misuse of position for SF administrators to ban users just for being affiliated with this site and for no other reason.

I already asked about the list and was told it included people he was aware of who were banned for no apparent reason, not related to the recent issues.

Personally, in 12+ years on forums, I have never found it necessary to ban anyone for being disrespectful. Spammers = ban.

We had one person at LzD who didn't have the slightest guilty conscious about having not only an illegal OS but other licensed software as well and flaunted it. Ordinarily, such situations are handled by providing information on how to get legal but this person was obnoxious about it and had no respect for the work that went into creating the software he was using. We finally ended up banning him.

Nice addition. I had planned after leaving SF to be a bit more judicious about who I reported and how I handled OPs. Given that I plan on working in less threads at a time, it should be more difficult for them to get under my skin. I feel the more threads I work in at once, the more I get tired of the whining and ungrateful OPs. LOL.

I also noticed that some of the banned members here have profiles at SF that say they have been active within the past few hours. Is that just attempting to log in that flags that? Or are you actually able to log in? I haven't tried since the day I had my account closed, so I was curious.

I edited the list just before you posted, Mike.

I know that a few names are not here, but I don't know if new names are used & also am not privy to the ban reasons, either.

I obtained the list info from a good source and reconciled it as best I could.

Knowing it may not be complete, my original post included -
If I missed anyone or you would like your name removed, please let me know.

Same here - but I only have 4 years as Mod, Mgr, Admin. Blatant SPAM bans only.

I have only ever used my powers of banishing on very rare occasions indeed... Of course, my experience as an active forum member only spans 2.5 years.

Yeah, most of my confusion was due to not knowing you had put it together with others in the past who were unreasonably banned. Corrine set me straight.

You? I cannot imagine you taking advantage of it. I haven't been at SF that long, but I've been through quite a few threads. Cordial, tolerant, accomodating, helpful. Continuing to post in threads that others would've dropped like a hot potato 20 posts prior. Some other users may have taken advantage of the opportunity, but you? I never would've believed it. I might be wrong of course but I think you may be being a little too hard on yourself.

I really appreciate your kind words! :D
