Bootloop after trying Installing KB4493473

I need some more information on the host machine.

1. Is it fully patched?
2. What AV is installed on the host if any?
3. What AV exclusions are set (only if AV is installed)?
4. What is the make/model of the server?
5. Where are the VMs stored? Is it local storage on the HyperV server, iSCSI target or something else?
6. How much memory, CPU cores, HDDs does the host have?
7. Has the memory been tested?

1. YEs
2. Eset File Security 7.0.12016.0
3. See here.

7. No i did not.

Thank you for the additional information.

Can you please check and let me know what error can be observed in the Event Viewer after a failed update attempt resulting in a bootloop?

Also, is there anything in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder?

Thank you for your patience with the issue.

It appears that the file you have provided is not the one I was looking for:

  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs
  2. Archive (ZIP\7z\RAR) the entire contents of the Logs folder.

Thanks.

Are the Servers (regardless of whether they are VMs or physical) identical in terms of software?

Also, which features/roles are enabled on this VM Server that are not enabled on the rest of them? Exchange Mail maybe?

"When Microsoft created Windows Server 2016, it sought to address these two pain points. Integration Services are now pre-installed into newer operating systems such as Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10. Also, Microsoft now delivers updates to Integration Services through Windows Update. "

It is already buildin.

Thanks for the info. Please do the following.

1. Click your Start button and type cmd in the search box. Right-click on cmd from the search results and select Run as administrator. Answer Yes if the UAC prompt comes up.
2. Copy/Paste the following in to the command-prompt window and hit enter.
wmic qfe list brief /format:texttablewsys > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\hotfix.txt"

3. This will create a file on your desktop named hotfix.txt. Please attach this to your next reply.
