1. Right click on the Task Bar and select Properties.
2. Click Navigation tab in the properties window
3. Uncheck "When I click the upper-left corner, switch between my recent tabs."
4. Reboot and let me know if your Start button works.

No luck unfortunately. Wish it was that simple lol. Start menu is still blank, "PC Settings" refuses to open under any/all circumstances. System restore points also being deleted automatically

Using File Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local.
Rename TileDataLayer to TileDataLayer-old
Using File Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\<username dedicated to your test account>\AppData\Local.
Right click and copy TileDataLayer then navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local.
Right click and Paste.

I cannot find a file with that name. Am I in the right place?

I managed to create a new userprofile by using Run > netplwiz. I can log in, the start menu items are all there but dont work. The Search function works though. When I click "PC Settings" you the "windows store" icons they autominimize to the task bar. Clicking on any of the other start menu icons returns an error that I cant find a clear answer for online. Will post the error here in a bit.

All the icons that are shortcuts for the usual programs (Control panel, KeePass, VLC) work fine. The Windows store and PC settings open then auto minimize to task bar like the video i uploaded previously. The Mail, news, weather, all those types of icons produce an error like this

All I was able to find about the autominimize and lock was that "your resolution might be set too low" since they require 1024x768 (or something close to this) to run. But my resolution on 1920x1080 so that is not the issue

Please try the following:

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Error still there. And it just keeps getting more strange. I created a new account since I read windows Store might not be opening due to not being signed into my microsoft account but i couldnt find the log in on my other account so I made a new one. And my desktop/start menu went back to the way it was before it made my start menu break. The apps still autominimize though or give this error
