disk management unable to connect to virtual disk service

I didn't understand: does the cd you created work?
I.e., does it boot your machine and bring you to the aomei backupper application?
If yes, you can use the bootable media/cd if bad things will happen.

Good to here from you Xilolee , I believe that the bootable usb flash drive is working . It boots up and brings me to the applications but what can you do with it? It doesn't boot you to the system recovery option. The only thing that I can do is use the command shell prompt. I made A system backup on an another usb flash drive but that usb is not bootable so if I cannot boot up the computer because of some problem how can I then use the system backup usb to get in the computer to change things around. It seems that the bootable usb brings me to the media but how can I use the system backup restore from the bootable usb which does not store the system back up file? The system back up files are 32 gb the bootable usb is only 16 gb and once it is formatted that drive is reduce to 4 gb .I know that I must be missing something here, I just don't know how to fully use this software no not yet. By the way on the command shell I cannot do a sfc /scannow cannot do chkdsk or the other chkdsk variations. Today bitjour is giving away the pro version of Aomei for free ,I took advantage of that but need to see the benefits of this thing.

Oh yes i can but once I am in that bootable environment media /cd i can only use the command shell which is limited and the system restore files are on an external usb drive. So yes I start the computer with the bootable media /usb but cannot do no real work when I am in that state.

Then I'm not sure you did it right.
Check the 57th post of "No Restore Points in Vista" (check also the other posts till the 63th) and you'll see Humble was able to run aomei backupper with its bootable USB stick:
ok, xilolee, created bootable USB stick.
booting via this stick brings up aomei backerupper.
remind me please, what exactly do I do at that point?
create backup...of what? ( various options ) or clone something...or??

Humble has another option on his computer that I don't. His computer is vista professional where you can make a backup of your entire system I have vista home premium which does not have that option so that is what's going on. It is not me or you it's the version of windows. I have a usb drive that is 128gb I will to put both the media /usb and the system backup on the same drive and see what happen. Talk to you soon.

Aomei backupper shouldn't have that limitation because it's not windows vista home premium: Two Ways to Achieve Vista Backup (click).

Again, the cd or usb created with aomei backupper (the PE version at least) should:
  • Start your machine. (And then soon after it... See next point)
  • Start directly aomei backupper (the application).
It shouldn't start the windows command line only.
  • Allow you to create FULL system backups (or partitions backups).
  • Allow all the other operations of aomei backupper.

Xilolee you're probably in bed by now, but I created the bootable media /usb again ( on the same drive) and I performed a system backup and it worked, so now the bootable media and the system backup is on the same bootable drive. I tested to see if it would boot in the pe state and it did yay!

Thanks for the greetings I use the mini partition to align the partition but the disk management still cannot connect to the virtual drive no not yet. What I can do is go into the Aomei utilities and use the command shell to do the diskpart commands, all of the diskparts commands work with this utility. All of the command prompts in normal mode or safe mode does not do diskpart at all. Only safe mode in the recovery option can I perform the diskpart commands. I truly believe that when I made a multiple bootable anti viruses rescue usb some way something affected the connect between the disk management and the virtual drive. I really wanted a utility that would give me the ability to boot into the system recovery options when the computer have problems starting up windows. I should now be able to use the bootable media to restore my system if things go haywire. Thanks again for your time and generous help Xilolee and staff members who I saw was looking into my situation with you and me thanks team .
