[SOLVED] Internet Explorer will not update

UPDATE:
IE9 Security update has gone away and been replaced by a Security Update for IE11
Will attempt that install now.
Got an error when trying to install the security update see attached png

Close Windows Update. Checked for updates. Showed the Security Update for IE11. Clicked install. Installed successfully. Rebooted and checked Windows Update. Security update was successful. Checking for updates now to see if there are any more important / critical updates...

No important updates available.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you... another issue cropped up, albeit not related to this issue :) I believe you can mark this thread SOLVED. KUDOS to you and xomputer for your help. I don't know if there is a way for me to give "stars" or whatever so feel free to do so on my behalf.
