My chronic nosebleeds didn't stop until I was well into my 20's... I still have some of the bloodstained pillowcases.

It was mostly the dry, forced hot air, heat that I had in every home growing up... I have thin blood vessels in my nose and when my nasal passages dried out, they would rupture....

Do you have a humidifier?

I have the same problem you do but with mine they're surfaced so rubbing my nose will make them bleed. Dry heat will do it as well.

I do, but we're on well water and the type of humidifier we have evaporates a salted mist into the air making the issue worse.

And since my office is cold in the winter I have to decide between a personal heater or freeze my ahem off.

They don't happen often, only when I'm stressed a lot, ill, or hot. But they have happened in ice cold weather too. So it really don't matter.

Stress raises blood-pressure...

I used to get by with nosebleeds by dampening a paper towel and inserting it into the nostril that was bleeding... Then I would continue to do whatever I was doing... A little later I would remove the paper towel and blow the clot out of my nose...

Problem is emergency responders tried that in 09 with me, the blood just backed up and started draining into my throat.

That's the problem they're so severe at times you just have to sit there do nothing and let it go through its thing.

Thing is just like in 09, this one I had just a bit ago around you guys made me very light headed and cruddy feeling. (trying to keep my language PG)

I still feel slightly light headed. This one was no where near the one in 09. That one was so bad that they were debating on driving me to a helipad and sending me right to the ER.

But this is off topic again bro.

P.S. / Edit: (This time I started it, but I felt that you guys here care so I was letting you all know what's going on)

Well lets see went from a pic about kids to health and naughty stuff to back on topic to medical emergencies to ..... well not quite sure....

How about we rename this thread to - "Random off-topic discussion with a few desktop images thrown in"!

I would beg to differ....

"A picture is worth a 1000 words"

Seems to hold true does it not?

I think requiring every thread to stay on topic in an off-topic forum is ridiculous...

Everyone is being respectful and we are still somewhat on topic so why not encourage it?

Well we DID take this thread in an informal new direction.

Like Stephen said, we talk about everything under the sun with the topic still there.

Each of the threads here basically turn into a chat room. You have a starting topic, but don't expect it to stay there.

Isn't that how it is when you go off-topic? That is the nature of conversations... They seem to spurn off in any which direction...

Although I must admit, toothless was nothing like how I imagined him in the book. Wasn't he supposed to be a small dragon? He wasn't his hunting/riding dragon IIRC.

Yes In the book Hiccup has a Terrible Terror.

And He trains it or something rather than fight it.

If I had something staring me down like that, I'd be like ummm ummm please don't eat me... please.

Very nice desktop you have! I'm jealous :)

I stopped using Rainmeter a few months ago, found I didn't actually look at my desktop enough to actually make it useful. But still, yours is very nice
