[SOLVED] Problems with installing Windows 10

Yes it is my first time using a vm I was always a litte skittish that I would mess something up. But I was also told it's like having another system on your machine like running ubuntu on windows.

Yes it's the same, however it doesn't make it your primary OS and also you need to share your physical computer resources (hard drive space, RAM, CPU, etc.) with the VM you create.

Already having problems(or not?) After completing installation I was getting ready to restart pc when this error came up, since I am a newbie at this not sure what it means:
Callee RC:
REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG (0x80040154)

failed to create the VirtualBoxClient COM object

Compatibility? What kind of compatibility? CPU?

Wait, this is for VirtualBox? I never ran my VirtualBox in compatibility mode and it always worked. Weird.

OK, sry took so long to reply, got win 10 up and running on vm(vm work station 12) not the real thing but it's good for now.(still can't get it to install reg way same error comes up c190011f. Keep in touch if anything new developes. Thanks for helping. I don't want to close this post if possible:dance:

No problem, it won't get closed :) As time goes by I'm sure more solutions will appear on the net regarding the multiple error codes people experience when upgrading to Windows 10. It'st just a waiting game now :P

OK here's the thing don't know if it's because it's installed(win10) on a vm or it's jinxed but when I first installed it it asked for an product key, I hit skip all went well. Now when I log on it's saying windows needs to be activated so I typed in win7 product key says it's invalid(even though I checked validation and it passed), and I'm getting this error code 0x0c004f050.Tried several attempts and getting the same results.

You cannot enter a Windows 7 product key in a clean Windows 10 installation. You need to upgrade a Windows 7 (that have that product key) installation first to Windows 10 before being able to use that product key in a clean install :)

Usually, I don't activate my VMs (which is probably not the best thing to do), since I reinstall them under 30 days or just use them for testing.

OK, should I uninstall the vm with win 10 on it and try the upgrade again? I do appreciate your advice as you can see I am a newbie at this stuff.

Ok disregarding the above question#76. While yet again trying to upgrade (I think I mentioned this somewhere) using the media creation tool(upgrade pc now) modern setup host has stopped working(seeing if your ready to install) error came up yet again.Anyway someone suggested for you to check two folders (setupact.log and setuperr.log) both taken from $windows> BT >sources> panther.
