[SOLVED] Repeated BSOD Win Vista Starter 32 bit

Yes.. again BSOD...again verifying DMI... again monitor colour changed to red for a while during startup... same problems.....

The big problem is the steps that is shown in Biostar website ... also not happening... the tool crashes on desktop after installation... on booting ... it does not pickup... BIOS shows ..Upgrade Bios... when clicked asks for Floppy drive with update to install.... How to update BIOS?

There is only one download link available for your BIOS verson. You can't choose between regions when it comes to BIOS, but you can do that for the drivers.

What is not happening? Which tool crashes on the Desktop? What did you install?

Bios Update Utility Tool -- Installation on desktop goes well.
And I am to install for booting problem solution the Bios update 61PCM630.BSS
When runas admin Bios update tool crashes.
Copy it in usb and run ... same problem.
Tried to make a bootable usb and run... OC does not recognise it as bootable media...

From the Biostar website the correct bios update file is not downloadable. Something else has appeared as a bios update file.
I am guessing this based on the fact that a bios update file will have an extension like .rom or something but not .BSS as
downloaded 61PCM630.BSS. I spent so much time trying to update bios with this file...... It seems to be fake.

I have no way of updating Bios if update is inaccessible for download on net.

No webpage download is not working. I don't think you tried a download to check it. Its only looks... and looks are deceptive.
See the screenshots...

This is what happens with most modern technology -- It is in front of you .. You attempt for it ... it does not come to you..
We end up wondering and as a distant onlooker till it is gone by the wind.... and we are contended that nothing lasts forever.

Needed BIOS update.jpgWebpage.jpgWebpage download.jpgWebpage download not reachable.jpg

Tried Chrome ... same story.
Do me a favour ... if you can download it ... forward it to me.

Also.. as I had mentioned earlier also ...nothing is downloadable from this webpage except ..marked as China.
These things later.....

I can, but I'd like to investigate this more first. Please do the following:

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 32-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Why did you mention -- STRANGE! I had reported it earlier also ... only China marked is downloadable.
Do you suspect -- virus, malware or any kind of hack? I DO.
But you had ruled out malwares right from start and focused on hardware....
Although I do not fear viruses .... at best/worst, it may be a surveillance kind of virus/malware/bot ...

And MS Security Essentials is TURNED OFF for RealTime Protection as it Quarantines FRST.
Anyway, the reports are as attached.

Now I have to leave this Home PC to go to work at the other end of the city in monsoon.
I will get back tonight...12 hours gap...

Hasta la Vista, Baby! .... (this time I got it right!)

VISTA ... Did you hear , I said -- VISTA!!!

Yes...... even BSOD logs are missing........
Now isn't that strange... And what did you find in FRST reports....
Anything more STRANGE????
I suspected ... PC under routine surveillance or a network/LAN Hacker passing his time...
But I do more search.......And finally found Crash dump logs ......ha ha ha ...
So now you can take a look with your EXPERT views to give me the best solution...
The crash dumps were located at C:\Users\Techie\AppData\Local\CrashDumps
Please see the attached file.
Awaiting your reply.

Please do not PM me unless I specifically request that or it has been 48 hours with no response from me.

The dumps you have found are not the ones I'm looking for. If they are not being created, let's try getting a picture: Please click on system properties - advanced - startup & recovery settings and uncheck "automatically restart". Then restart if required and wait for the new crash to happen. When it does, your system will not reboot, please take a picture of the error and get it to me. Just to verify that what you are seeing are indeed blue screen crashes and not something else.

FRST logs looked fine. The reason it was being detected is the way it was designed in order to detect and remove malware. It's safe and regularly used and maintained by the members of the security community.

Settings are made.
I do not use a phone with camera.
So I cannot send you a BSOD picture.
But a similar picture (except the error parameters) downloaded from Google search will be OK.
The errors are -- 0x0000.....A5 (0x000....11, 0x000.....06, 0x00000..0, 0x000...0)
The error codes A5 - ACPI BIOS Error (needs BIOS UPDATE)
11- Thread not MUTEX Owner (Driver not communicating with BIOS)
06- Invalid Process Detach Attempt (Virus or leftover driver/registry/system file)
00 - ???
00- ???
Sorry for the PM... I feel like going ahead with BIOS update. I will download it from Cyber Cafe.
Awaiting your reply.
