[SOLVED] Repeated BSOD Win Vista Starter 32 bit

And before you come up with all the good solutions... I have some thing to update you about PC......

Yes.. I went ahead with installing Driver updates ... taken from Biostar website.---

Chipset IDE
Chipset SMBus
Chipset Ethernet
OnBoard VGA
OnBoard Audio

--- got successfully installed.

Chipset SMU
Serial ATA RAID
---- these 2 Drivers from Biostar website were found incompatible on my PC.
Wonder Why ? ???

Then switched to Wndows Update and it offered ---

Important Update - - nVidia Graphic Adapter WDDM 1.1 (Other Hardware - NVIDIA GeForce6150SE nForce 430 (172 MB) Released - Jan 2013/ Pub - 4.10.2013.
and an Optional Update -- nVidia Network NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller - (548 kb)Pub - 12.28.2012 / Released - Aug 2010.

Both updates were successfully installed via Windows Update.
So the scenario has changed somewhat.....for good or for bad ... time will tell... say a few days or within a week. We shall come to know..

Hi Bindesh,

okay... understood. Sorry for sounding so .... I am interested to proceed. Sorry that you got such an impression from me. Regret it... Won't happen again.. I shall take care of it. If you can excuse me...

By the way the Audio driver downloaded from Biostar website failed, then taking a hint from the manufacturer's audio driver downloaded and installed and it runs okay. ChipsetSMU downloaded from Biostar website also was not compatible and Serial ATA Raid driver downloaded from Biostar website also was not a valid drive for my PC. Anyway but the PC is running .... with its same issues.

After that Graphic driver update came through Windows update and so did nVidia nforce networking controller update.

That is as far as I could get....till date.

Further, whether RAM (2x1GB) was faulty or not ... it was replaced with 2x 2GB RAM --- to accommodate RAMDisk (1GB) and settings of SSD drive were tweaked. Power settings for PC kept to High Performance with Never Sleep.
Also, mouse was replaced as left click was not properly working. Keyboard driver and nVIDIA nForce PCI System Management Driver was updated via driver update tool (3rd party).
With this all driver combinations for the systems are done..... by trial and error ... using 3rd party tools... etc.

A virus check to remove .lnk malware that looked like shortcut virus (mstirn.exe - Trojan Agent & __ Worm.Agent) was removed using 3rd party antimalware tool.
Many tracking cookies were removed using antimalwarebytes.

The issue of BSOD and BKSOD showing up after 2 or 3 starts.
Next any clutter of leftover uninstalled programs to be removed and cleaning PC will be taken up.
PC startup and shutdown is sluggish.
PendingRenames folder has many files.

And what remains as original hardware now are --- MoBo with CPU & Keyboard --- the last things to keep Vista Starter 32 bit on my PC.
I have not tried StressTest .... but I shall wait till October first week to see if PC can come out of all issues or hardware fails
That will be its stress test.....till then I keep cleaning PC of leftovers, check for virus, etc...

Need not reply/respond to this post at the moment.
This is for record of activity only.
Next post will be in October first week 2019.

This is for Feedback --

Finally located a MoBo supplier with testing facility to run a test on my MoBo/CPU/RAM/SSD.
It passed the test. MoBo / CPU is flawless. The PC hardware is OK.
So is Win Vista Starter 32 bit License key.
Also, the fact that hardware is OK means Win 10 can be installed anytime in future.

Next ... why was it getting BSOD after BIOS update/flashing, proper OS installation, Drivers and tweaking SSD and optimizing Services and Start Runs....
..after cleaning PC of all virus, malwares, etc....
...registry settings for SSD Drive icon in tray, Reg settings for AHCI, Power Management Settings for High Performance with Never Sleep / Never Hibernate, etc.
that is .. BSOD error A5 (11,06,00,00)
SCI_EN never becomes set in PM1 Control Register ? --
--- in general -- is due to BIOS/Vista cannot take more than 15 tasks at a time.
and other reasons ... requiring good maintenance.

What took very long to find out was-- BIOS settings> Integrated Peripherals>Onboard IO/Address > Onboard Parallel Port --- Disabled.
This needed to be disabled. Then there was no BSOD.

Lastly... in maintenance & repairs -- HDD had 40 bad sectors --> replaced with SSD
Mouse left click stuck ---> replaced mouse
Monitor menu buttons/ circuit burnt ---> replaced Monitor
Power Supply Unit --> Blown / swollen capacitors --> replaced PSU
Spike Guard faulty --> replaced Spike Guard
Upgraded RAM from 2GB to 4 GB + RAMDisk

What caused all of the above ? A sudden surge in power inside Computer --
--June to September -- Monsoon --
Lightning may have caused a power surge causing the above damage and BSOD.

Started a thread in Sysnative for Win Defender Updates not coming through Win Updates (since June 2018)...
... then moved to BSOD thread...and complete repairs ends here.

PC is working without BSOD for last 4 days... good enough test to say -- ALL IS DONE!

All in all -- Hardware repairs were attempted for the first time.
A very tough part was to find proper technicians and hardware stores in locality.
Gone through too much of negativity and skepticism.... a drag... but after taking breaks kept coming back to continue repairs.

Thanks a lot to Sysnative Forum for giving an opportunity to make this attempt of Confidence building exercise on a computer -- a left out but much needed experience
without which going on from Win XP to Vista and then to ..... say Win 10 would have been nothing more than a stampede... a mad rush.

All this for learning, .... yes... Sysnative Forum kept a lot of patience... it was a test for me.
Thanks for standing-by. It took too long... but Next Time... Next Time... I will be able to do it all by myself!
Nothing is as thrilling as success and a feeling that I can do it... I did it... a soaring confidence.

You may put your final remarks before marking it as RESOLVED --
