[Server2012R2Upd3 x64] WU 8007000D KB4054519

Re: [Server2012R2 x64] WU 8007000D KB4054519

I think I see the issue:
Please export Package_1091_for_KB4048958~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.2 on both your sick server and your working server, and label them.

They should be within Component Based Servicing Packages or Packages Detect. Please ensure you export subkeys as well (if present).

Re: [Server2012R2 x64] WU 8007000D KB4054519

The keys don't match! Please export the key I requested again, only from the sick server. Mind the KB number.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Re: [Server2012R2 x64] WU 8007000D KB4054519

Absolutely!

When I asked you to provide logs, I saw that there was a registry corruption identified within this key: wow64_microsoft-windows-smartcardsubsystem_31bf3856ad364e35_0.0.0.0_none_a24a7b279edb57c9

Then I poked around your hives and compared it to a working machine, deleted everything within the key and then imported values that were present on a working machine.

For the second error, I suspected what the issue was, but when you provided the export, I'd realized that both the value and its data were incorrect, so I deleted the existing data and imported correct data. :)

I hope that explains it. Let me know if you need further clarification on something.

I will be marking this thread as solved if there are no other issues with your system.

Sure thing and thank you very much.

Re: [Server2012R2 x64] WU 8007000D KB4054519

Hi;

After reboot there is an error in event viewer {Registry Hive Recovered} Registry hive (file): '\SystemRoot\System32\Config\RegBack\SOFTWARE' was corrupted and it has been recovered. I did scanfix and chkdsk but it doesn't remedy the issue.

Re: [Server2012R2 x64] WU 8007000D KB4054519

Copy the software hive from regbak dir to C:\Windows\System32\config.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you backup everything BEFORE doing anything because if you do this incorrectly, you may render your machine unbootable.

You will likely have to do this over a reboot from the recovery mode.

Re: [Server2012R2 x64] WU 8007000D KB4054519

Please do the following in order for me to get more information about the error:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.
  9. You will see a zip file called EvtLogs.zip on your Desktop. Please attach it with your reply.

What do you mean by: Due to BSOD, my colleague created a new image and the particular update fail to install again. Created a new image? A new server was configured and set up? Was it restored from backup? Please elaborate further on this.

Hi;

This is a PVS server. I have created a new maintenance image from current production image. The image itself is not new and has all previous Windows patches until November 2017
