That makes more sense. I just couldn't see how it was possible that this machine originally came with Windows XP (likely 32-bit) and was upgraded to Windows 7 (64-bit). Does your DVD says Windows 7 Home Premium x64 With SP1 or is it without?I found out tonigh that the desktop actually came with Windows 7 Home Premium, and that I have the original installation disc.
Download the drivers from the following link and place them on your desktop. After the repair is complete, if you don't have internet access then this will have to be installed to resolve.1) It says to download any network adapter drivers for your system. I couldn't locate any for the motherboard for this build. Will this be a problem?
No this will not be a problem. As long as you have the retail key handy that you got from Microsoft we can always re-enter it if need be. This may involve calling an activation line but won't be a problem.2) "Gather your license keys for software and for Windows to allow easy use in re-installing or activating Windows and/or programs on your system". In the process of trying to get this issue resolved with Microsoft they issued a new product key, which is not the same as the one on the DVD box for my OEM installation disc. Problem?
No.Any reason you can think of that I'd be getting this error when Windows was reinstalled via the OEM disc?
Not sure what this is, or if it will be a problem (or is an indicator of another issue...?)
