Upgrade to Windows 10 fails

Download the file MGADiag.zip and save it on your desktop.
Extract the downloaded file. It contains the file MGADiag.exe by Microsoft.

  • Right-click the file
    5549225872b58-MGADiag.PNG
    MGADiag.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  • Click the button Continue.
  • When finished, a report will be displayed. Click the button Copy.
  • Paste the information in your next reply.
 
Zip file wouldn't download due to "Virus detected" so I downloaded it from the web.

Which antivirus program is that ?


Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.

2. A User Account Control dialog may come up asking for approval. If it does go ahead and allow.
3. A command prompt window will open. Copy and paste the following into the command-prompt and hit enter.

4. After the command runs there will be a file on your desktop named services.txt.

Restart the machine.
Try the upgrade again and report the result.

Win 10 install fails at the same stage i.e. 11% into the "Working on updates" phase, and the error message is the same.
 
When available, attach the files C:\Windows\Panther\setuperr.log and C:\Windows\Panther\setupact.log.
 
Uninstall following programs:
  • CCleaner
  • Easy Tune 6 B09.0908.1
  • Internet Explorer (Enable DEP)
  • MyFreeCodec

Do you still use these programs ?:
  • EaseUS Partition Master Suite 16.6
  • Macrium Reflect Free Edition
  • MiniTool Partition Wizard Free 10

What is the program "System Date Synchronizer version 1.2" used for ?
 
I've uninstalled the following:
  • CCleaner
  • Easy Tune 6 B09.0908.1
  • Internet Explorer (Enable DEP)
  • MyFreeCodec
  • EaseUS Partition Master Suite 16.6
  • Macrium Reflect Free Edition
  • MiniTool Partition Wizard Free 10
The automated uninstall for Easy Tune 6 didn't remove the program so I removed all traces from the PC & registry manually.

All these programs were already installed when Windows 10 1703 initially installed successfully.

The program "System Date Synchronizer version 1.2" synchronises the date & time on my bike light/camera with the system date/time on the PC.
 
Reboot the machine.

FRST Scan:
  1. Right-click FRST64.exe to run the tool as administrator.
  2. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  3. Press the Scan button.
  4. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  5. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

FRST Registry Search
  1. Right-click on the file FRST64.exe and choose Run as administrator.
  2. Copy and paste AVG_TRAY;vProt;Check Point VPN;duni.sys into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
  3. When the scan is complete, a message will display that 'SearchReg.txt' is saved in the same folder FRST was started from. Notepad will open this file also. Close Notepad and attach the file 'SearchReg.txt' to your next reply.
  4. You may close any remaining open windows now.
