Upgrade to Windows 10 fails

Uninstall Visual Studio 2012 x64 Redistributables. It was part of AVG antivirus.
Is Malwarebytes still installed ?

Done. There were also other versions/files with AVG as the publisher ? Malwarebytes was removed from the PC a while ago using the Add Remove Programs and also using the Malwarebytes Support Tool but references still appear.

Also ... with SSL 2.0 under SCHANNEL, DisabledByDefault had and has a value of 1.

Tried running Media Creation Tool (22h2) from the Desktop. It checked things, downloaded updates ... and then sat on "Making sure you're ready to install" for 8 hours with the spinning wheel symbol spinning away and the disk access light flicking on every couple of seconds. Then I stopped the install and tried restarting the install with the internet disconnected but that failed right away saying it couldn't download updates. So now I'm trying to install Win 10 from the USB after selecting the don't install updates option.
