What are you currently playing?

A lot of League of Legends...

I also got a beta key for the Elder Scrolls Online yesterday.

I'm pretty sure everyone got one or two beta keys, I haven't heard of anyone that doesn't have one yet.

As for me, I've been playing Hammerwatch and some Fallout 3.

Yeah I got a beta key for Elder scrolls a while back. I did try it and wasn't hugely impressed even though I played Skyrim for almost a 1000hrs. Another thing that puts me off is it will be a subscription based game. I'd rather pay for a game and be done with it and apart from WoW I think every subscription based game has failed miserably.

Not only is it subscription based, but it has microtransactions. I grew up with Elders Scrolls. I played it since 1999 and literally have not had a year that I never played at least a little bit of it. I read the lore a lot - what I'm saying is I'm a massive, thorough fan. Yet, no matter what I did, how hard I tried, I couldn't enjoy TES:O, it didn't feel like a step forward, it felt like a spinoff more than anything. It just didn't belong, nobody was asking for an MMORPG, we wanted a co-op experience and a less buggy game, not this massively lore-breaking nonsense. I couldn't even be bothered to pay at all for this, it's not worth my time or money. Skyrim, even Oblivion have more going for it than TES:O. Let's not even get into how so many group of friends and clans are going to be divided because of their asinine three faction split.

As for your last comment, no not every sub based MMO has failed - unless you mean commercially. As far as I can tell, SW:TOR still has a huge playerbase for example. Personally, I think a buy-to-play model (Guild Wars) is the best option. Buy the game, buy the expansions, include microtransactions for cheap.

MMOs are hard to get right - it's still too early too call how successful TES:O will be.

As for subscription based games, off the top of my head RuneScape is still going strong - a slightly cheaper subscription model, but it's also a browser based game rather than one with 20GB worth of assets. Yes, it is still a true MMO before anyone argues that it doesn't count.

I played Runescape for many years, it's one of the things that got me into programming.

I lost interest after the messed up the wild though... I would go back and give RS 2007(old school) a try but, it is members only

I haven't been playing video games too much in the past year. But I have been playing Battle Pirates, which an old game friend of mine had been trying to get me to play for years.

I, actually, really like it and play quite a bit in my down time (relaxing after work).

I haven't touched my Xbox in over 6 months... The last time I used it was to watch Netflix.

As much as I love the elder scrolls... I don't think I would be able to get into the MMO port of it. I enjoyed the series' expansive and immersive gameplay and the ability to start where I ended.

They brought the Wilderness back again, and I remember when everyone quit after it went. The last time I played Runescape was end of 2013/beginning of 2014, I only haven't really played it because it's so time consuming.

I've kinda stopped playing GTA: V since I've completed the game 100%, and I was thinking of playing Fable III again but it's just having the time to start the game all over again.

I dusted off my old copy of Supreme Commander.. Great game still to this day, if not showing it's age a little. I was looking at the stuff that came with the game too. Maps, booklets and even an actual manual. How many games carry stuff like that nowadays?

I know there aren't many gamers here yet, but I thought this topic might be nice. Talk about games that are currently on your radar here.

I've completed Mass Effect 3 recently, and I've gone back to playing the Witcher 2. I had played the first game, and thought it was great, and bought TW2 on release - I was put off by the numerous bugs in the unpatched version, and the absurd difficulty of some parts of the game. I've gone back to it now though, and it's actually a great game.

What are you currently playing, or thinking of getting?

I've been engrossed in Elder Scrolls Online. It's not as good as Skyrim or some of the previous, non-MMO Elder Scrolls games, but it's still quite fun.

Playing a lot of DOTA 2. Would be starting Dead Island now and Metro since Internet is very bad in college :(

Also, if anyone would like an invite to the Dead Island Epidemic, shoot me a PM ^_^

Metro is an excellent series, I enjoyed first Dead Island but, couldn't be bothered to finish the second.

Currently, I have been playing The Evil Within. However, I will be picking up Lords of The Fallen tomorrow so will probably give that a good run.

How is the Evil Within?

Just got XCOM for free from GMG and bought Riptide for 5$ which is the best I can spend on that game. I had the Metro Last Light but was not able to finish it :( I will try again soon xD

Heh. Gonna probably surprise the lot of you with my contribution here...

My three fav games are Longbow Digital Arts' "TreadMarks", PopCap Games' Bejeweled 3 and Nadeo's TrackMania Nations Forever. While the first is truly ancient (I think the game originally came out about 2000) it is still going strong. Bejeweled 3 is just a combo of eye-candy and relaxing play, and TrackMania's just a blast, since you can create tracks as well as drive others' creations. Re-skinning the cars can be a challenge, though.

Never really been into gaming at all, whether it be on PC or console. The closest I get to gaming normally is Mario (especially the old Super Mario World on the Game Boy Advance!).

Anyway, I've just started playing Portal as per some recommendations and am loving it so far. Already got Portal 2 downloaded as well, ready to play :)

Anyone else played Portal? (don't spoil it for me though! :p)

Once you start, you never stop.

No, I've never played Portal.
I've not played any games for a long time now, mainly becuase I'm busy with my college work, and my Nvidia driver ends up having stroke whenever I play any games.

Yep, I have played it. Excellent game. The game gives me the same feeling when I see a BMW/Audi Prototype cars :p

Just a very, very minor spoiler -

Also, make sure that once you end the game, listen to the credits song. It is just fantastic!
If you want to listen to it first -

I need to see if I can find time to complete Portal 2. The second part gives me a creepy feeling :|
