Hello CKing,
Microsoft says an ISO is not available, and that the device manufacturer needs to be contacted for their options. I chatted with ASUS, and was told I need to send my laptop to them for repair, or outright purchase a new operating system.
I have difficulty in accepting this. I believe Microsoft has some amount of responsibility in this requirement of me to spend money.
In good intentions, I attempted to install Win 10 when offered by Microsoft as a free download and install. I installed per instructions, and when I discovered that it was taking a long time, I left my computer during the install. Returning later, my computer was black-screened and unresponsive to mouse and keyboard input even though the power light was lit. Today, I don't recall the details that I documented on other forums before coming on Sysnative, but I was able to restart my laptop. A message appeared allowing me to start a revert back to Win 7, which I did. That all occurred near the end of their Win 10 free promotion period, which I believe was in July 2016. Since then, I have had the update problem you have provided help on.
I now believe that Win 10 couldn't be installed on a Win 7 pre-installed computer, and Microsoft should have known and stated that.
I got ripped-off.
I do thank you and all the other people at Sysnative that tried to help me.
At present, I need to finish my 2016 tax preparation on my Win7/Win10 OS before I decide what I'm going to do with my problem. There must be another way out of this corner.
