[SOLVED] Windows 10 Pro, Critical_Process_Died on startup after 1st update to version 1803

The drive letters are remapped in the recovery mode, so it's okay, please restore to an earlier restore point. I see you have a couple available.

I get an error with either.

System Restore gives me the restore points that produce the
"You must enable system protection on this drive."
I can't check the box to go to next.

I'll try again.

Try using the xcopy command.

yes I'll look at that. It makes me a bit uncomfortable to wipe everything.
I think I have all my personal stuff backed up, it's old software like Excel and Word 2007
that I worry about getting back. Also I worry about the activation of windows.
I haven't got product key, my pc came with windows 8 Pro and microsoft says clean install
without product key may not get it from BIOS? I don't want to end up buying another
windows 10 Pro license.

Anyway, I have to go on the road tomorrow morning, maybe only back Tuesday.
I'll post when I get back.

About the backup, I think there are same name directories so I need to make a backup
directory and copy everything into it. Can you help me do that using command prompt?

Thank you for everything so far, I'll read your suggestions/help when I get back.
