I'm back, if you're working I can wait.
I started the windows setup from the usb media.
I'm on the second screen where it says install now (centre of window)
or Repair your computer (bottom left), I think I tried this but it didn't work.
Do I proceed from Install now?
Does this automatically make optimum use of my SSD, I think it only showed (C) System as place to install

Yes, and yes! C should be your SSD.

yes, under mSata: Samsung SSD PM830, mSata 32GB

What is the SATA setting in the BIOS? AHCI or RAID? Set it to AHCI, reboot and retry the setup.

it's at RAID, ok I'll change it.

Leave it for now. Just change the SATA to AHCI and attempt the setup again.

there is now a Drive 1 Unallocated Space 29.8GB No Type specified
when I highlight the Drive 1 it says:the amount of free space is less than 34090 MB recommendation?
where to install? leaves only Partition 5

I've been restored to 1803 build 17134.1, so far so good

Everything looks fine, the update that drove me here even installed last night (now on build 17134.48).
Some network issues that were there before haven't gone away and I can't connect an older usb printer yet.
