It just seems as if there was some intrusion to the OS. With all the problems that are going on but I guess it could be worse.

Nope, it's not hacking, you're missing some crucial Windows Update folders, but we are trying to determine the root cause as to why our tool refuses to work here as we have not encountered this before. Thank you for your patience with the issue!

Please reply to the following post.

Does your username have any special characters in it? Ligatures (ij), diacritics (š), spacing modifiers (ʰ), non-Latin alphabet (ӝ), punctuation (※), symbols (∉), Right-To-Left characters etc.?

If it does could you please give me some examples of the special characters it contains?

Finally, as a test, could you please create the folder C:\SFCFixTest (or something similar), place the .zip script and .exe file and try running SFCFix from there?

Also, for the time being, please refrain from deleting your user name from the logs in order for us to verify that everything is being done correctly.

Try the SFCFix.zip on your Test account please.

Using the elevated CMD worked for both command lines. I tried the SFCFix again from post 20 (see attached). I tried the C:\SFCFixTest folder using the script from post 53 and it crashed as before. Also this morning windows update stated no important updates available but after I checked for updates it states that KB4103718 is available.

Interesting, so WU does work now? There's no error when searching for updates? Please do the following:

FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Yes, but it is weird that I have to check for updates again only to reveal that I do need updates. Also I noticed that SFCFix.exe properties states under security that "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." Should it be unblocked?

I got the msu (unblocked) for KB4103718 from Microsoft Catalog and the installation failed using it that way. Also I tried directly from WU and I get failed code 8024200D.
