I've never see this before. Let's try the following.

Uninstall/Reinstall & Reset MSDTC

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it one at a time, press enter after each

    msdtc -uninstall

    msdtc -install
    msdtc -resetlog

Let me know if you get any errors.

thanks for your reply and yes after uninstall, install, resetlog then ran sfc and got the same error. I had learned how to uninstall reinstall the msdtc before I came to the forum, so I knew that was not going to solve the sfc error. when you come up with the solution which I know you will, I be ready to follow your lead. you have already went far beyond the call of duty with much patience and grace Brian.

This is a tough one for sure. Please do the following when able.

FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 32-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

I ran a sfc /scannow after the above tasks and now the sfc /scannow verification is only verifying 28% complete with it saying it founded corrupt files but I could not find corrupt files or cannot repair. sfc is only verifying 28%complete then it release a statement of found corrupt files. which I cannot find. weird
