This last fix looks like it's made progress, it went through the motions of trying to do the update install, it said it was successful and I thought it had succeeded it prompted for a system restart. But I think it rolled it back on restart. Looking at the windows update log it states that it failed. I'm retrying a second time just in case

Yes, I watched it carefully this time, after shutting down on restarting it said "Wait installing updates, got to about 71% Then the message was "Failure configuring Windows Updates Reverting Changes. Do not switch off. It was caught in a loop for a while and then it finally went to the login stage. This remind me this was the same problem it was originally having with monthly rollups early this year (maybe even end of last year). I've attached the CBS.log after my second failed attempt at installing KB4474419

I think I'm missing a step or something here, am I supposed to paste the contents above in a fixlist file, before Executing FRST64?
Actually I'm pretty sure you meant that.

Hi,

I think I'm missing a step or something here, am I supposed to paste the contents above in a fixlist file, before Executing FRST64?
Actually I'm pretty sure you meant that.

Nope all the needed steps are there, you only need to copy the script to the Clipboard with Copy because FRST will read the instructions from there and execute them without a fixlist.txt

Oh dear, that's made it worse now, I can't even start to install the update now.

Seems like that but actually the log doesn't show strange errors now, so let take care of one registry key and see...
