Hi  I recently upgraded Win 7 Home to Win 10. It works for the most part but there are several issues

Some current updates fail to install (kb308144 and kb2267602

wufails.png

I have hidden a couple of old updates that also fail (KB2596787 and KB2825645)

wufailsold.png

I next tried running SFC /SCANNOW which gave me the following information:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

I then found the suggestion to run the DISM command, which I did with the following parameters:
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

/scanhealth reported:The component store is repairable.
The operation completed successfully.
/restorehealth reported:
Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location

I tried it also with a mounted ISO as a local source with the same result

I downloaded and ran SFCFix, with the same result as dism /restorehealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.10240.16384

Image Version: 10.0.10240.16384

[==========================100.0%==========================]

Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.

Please find attached the existing logs for

I tried a repair install using a local iso and the online option both seem disappear about half way through.

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated :banghead:

Thank you thank you

Jeremy

Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named LiquidTension. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

I have also tried a repair install with the win home 64 iso file mounted on virtual drive H:\
setuperr logs attached early one from
"C:\$Windows.~WS\Sources\Panther\setuperr1.log"
later one from
"C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr2.log"

they may help with what the problem is

the repair update crashes and disappears part way through
