[SOLVED] [10v1607b14393 x64] Can't upgrade to 1703/1709. No any new driver (0x800703f1)

I will do this soon, half an hour or so. Should I try the update again afterwards?

Good. Please do the following.

Step#1 - DISM / Get-Drivers
Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
    Dism /Online /Get-Drivers
  3. Let me know if this completes with "The operation completed successfully."

I just tried installing a new Readon driver but it fails. I suppose it's a similar error as before. I will perform a BIOS update nevertheless now.

Updating the Radeon driver via Windows got me a BSOD with "Thread stuck in driver".

I removed old drivers, updated the BIOS and tried installing the newest Radeon driver. Despite the blue screen, Windows recognizes the driver after a reboot, is able to switch to full resolution and even recognizes and installs the display driver (which was not possible before). I'm unsure if the state is really ok like this but that's the best we can right now get I'm afraid.

The update went through like before. After logging in I had the black screen again, however this time I kept the PC running for 8 hours. In the morning, at least I was able to see the task manager. Running explorer or "cmd" had no immediate impact though, it just seems that everything is running very slowly if at all. I found a similar problem on HP's forum - users having black-screen problems in combination with the AppReadiness service due to faulty registry entries (by some HP driver). I do have an HP printer, maybe this is part of the problem. Will try disabling the AppReadiness service, provided I can get access to services.msc within a reasonable time. Is there something else that might help?

Strange, it just seems terribly slow. It now took me roughly three hours to get from login to the desktop. The icons still haven't loaded, just the task bar has. From clicking to something happening takes again minutes/hours.

You probably want to revert back to previous version like we did before. Then maybe we will uninstall your HP Printer and Video Driver before doing the upgrade. Revert back and let me know when done and we can come up with a plan.

OK, let's come up with a plan. Please do the following so we can gather some information.

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please copy and paste log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also paste that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.

Thank you. Let's gather some more. Please do the following.

Retrieve System Information
1. Download Speccy to your desktop. The setup file will be named spsetup130.exe or something similar.
2. Double-click on this file and install it. Note: Please ensure that you uncheck any foistware that may be presented during the install (i.e. Chrome Browser install).
3. When the program opens it will retrieve some information regarding your system.
4. Once it's done, select the File menu and choose Publish snapshot. Answer Yes to the confirmation message.
5. On the next screen that comes up, choose the Copy to Clipboard button and paste this link in your next reply.

I saved the specs to a text file which is attached instead of publishing it to a URL. Hope that's ok.
