Re: Win 7 X64 SP1 On Screen Keyboard (OSK) not starting
Magdalene, my advice is we put this thread on hold for the time being. Start a thread in the Windows Update forum to get the system files resolved. First, you will need to run SURT; a link is in the Posting Instructions there, step #3. Afterward, rerun SFCFix and attach new results, along with CBS.log in a thread you create. The specialists there will be able to get the corruptions fixed.
What caused the corruptions is the question. My first suggestion is to go to the Security Arena forum and ask for a checkup after following the Posting Instructions there. My second concern is if you are using any file cleaners. Some are too robust and can damage/delete system files if the wrong things are checked off to be cleaned. The only one, I trust, is the default setting of Ccleaner plus uncheck MS Search in Applications/Windows. I don't run it too often, either. Don't run any for now, until things get back on par.
Limit your threads to one at a time. If needed, respective specialists will redirect you, as I am suggesting here. Finally, dont do any of my suggestions yet, until plodr weighs back in on this thread. I always follow her lead.
Satrow, I vaguely recall you providing that insight on another site, several years back. I was comfortable with what you said then, as I still am. I just stored it away in my mind as nothing to ever get excited about. Again, thanks.
