Hi,

Export registry key as hive file.
  • Open the Start menu of Windows and type CMD.
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, select the option Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt and press enter.
Code:
reg save "HKLM\SOFTWARE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control" "%userprofile%\Desktop\Control.hiv"
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called Control.hiv.
  • ZIP this file and attach it to your next reply.

Hi,

I had to change the path to:
reg save "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control" "%userprofile%\Bureau\Control.hiv"

Is that correct ?

Yes, that's correct for your language pack. Please open regedit, are you able to open the highlighted key manually?

Hmm, at this stage it might be better to consider a clean install of Windows due to number of issues and all the different errors we've seen.

Hi, thank you for your time.
I have made a donation for all the work you provided.

I am surprised that my system is such screwed up as I did not attempt to bypass the regular updates, and it is quite a recent install.
However I will avoid previews from now, if that was the cause of the problem..

Is there a chance that an update fixes the remaining issues?

Maybe can I continue to look at log as you did until now (setupdiag... ?)
Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for your donation to Sysnative.

Since a restore installation does not work, I don't think one of the upcoming updates will fix it, and also because of the notification of Microsoft to perform a repair install in the Windows Update screen.

Hi,

I finally managed to complete successfully all my upgrades !!

1) disabled all applications starting with windows (just in case)
2) disabled the Ryzen curve optimizer which I believe was the root cause of instability; I discovered suspicious reboots while upgrading similar to when it happened when I was in idle mode : my PC could reboot with no reasons, but that was not obvious while upgrading as the PC can restart with no warning.
3) reinstalled in place from ISO with no updates
4) left windows update do its jobs

Everything went then very smoothly.
Now I can reainstall all the softwares left behind :)

But your help has been very precious, because it was first for sure a very corrupted system that preventing from updating..

Glad you have managed to resolve this issue, and I would absolutely avoid preview updates in the future... (y)
